We at C.A. Papaellinas Group are aware that business profitability depends on natural capital and resource regeneration which is presently consumed at a rate far exceeding the natural replenishment.

We are therefore, committed towards the management of energy and environmental resources in maintaining a balance between the organization’s needs to improve our competitiveness, while preserving natural resources and ecosystems for future needs.

For this we are committed to ensure the following:

  • In order to combat climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions we look for energy efficient office equipment and fuel efficient or / and electric cars;
  • In order to combat desertification and preserve the scarce water resources on the island we take every measure to preserve water;
  • As we produce packaging waste we foresee that this is managed according to legal requirements
  • In order to minimise the pollution of ecosystems, we always look to use eco – friendly products;
  • We are aware that our resource consumptions indirectly affect biodiversity and for this we have set up an efficient environmental management system to mitigate such impact.

Adhering to the above principles we are committed in setting up objectives with targets that are reviewed in an attempt to continually improve our good environmental and social performance while becoming environmentally competitive in the wholesale services sector.

Also, we take the necessary steps to prevent environmental degradation, ensuring that all of our services are in compliance with the relevant legal requirements and those laid down in standards adopted by the organization.
To ensure the protection of the environment, C.A. Papaellinas Group implements an Environmental Management System that fully complies with the guidelines of ISO 14001:2015, ISO 14064-1:2018, ISO 14064-2:2019 and the relevant provisions of European Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2017/1505. The Group’s efforts in the field of sustainability have also been positively recognized through its evaluation by EcoVadis sustainability rating platform.

The scope of the System is:

  • Agents involved in the sale of food, beverages, and tobacco (NACE Code: G46.1.7)
  • Wholesale of perfume and cosmetics (NACE Code: G46.4.5)
  • Wholesale of pharmaceutical goods (NACE Code: G 46.4.6)

The Environmental Manager ensures that the Environmental Management System Procedures, are fully understood by the entire human resources of the organization, are implemented, and adhered to at all levels of the organizational structure.

The top management of C.A. Papaellinas Group, in collaboration with the staff, pledges that on the one hand, it will continuously ensure the full and effective implementation of the Environmental Management System, and on the other, provide all the necessary means for the continuous and uninterrupted operation and its continuous improvement.

Also, environmental policy goals always take precedence over productivity goals or any other goals of the organization.
